This beautifully patterned snake is a COASTAL CARPET PYTHON, a species which in the wild would be found in the area of Rockhampton in Queensland, Australia.  Carpet pythons are excellent climbers and spend much of their lives in trees, this particular individual liking to climb and sit on one of the many branches in its enclosure!

Coastal carpet pythons are the largest of the different forms of Australian carpet python, with the largest individuals reaching 4 metres or more.  However, in captivity they rarely grow to more than 2.5 - 3 metres and remain quite slender compared to some of the heavier bodied pythons in my collection, such as the royal pythons of Africa.  This particular coastal carpet python has really lovely markings as you can see here:
